I've been offering them a "calvus cave" and some other Calvus-friendly shells....mainly so that the female can hide from the male. There's an enormous size difference in this pair and he killed the original female that I bought him with.
The other day, just for the heck of it, I threw in a pleco cave that I figured the L. leleupi might like. A day or so later, I saw her going in and out of it while doing a "look at me" dance in front of the male. Another two days, and she's guarding eggs and I have wigglers today! I seriously didn't expect them to spawn....as I mentioned, there are leleupi in the tank as well as a very gregarious group of Mbipia and a bunch of Syno lucipinnis.
I think I'll pull her brood into a breeder box tonight just in case. I've seen her straying away for long stretches of time today.
