A got a bag of 6 these West African cichlids for a song at the AquaMania Rare Fish Auction and dropped them into a 2'x2'x1' tank with some grow out Madagascar cichlids and some goodeids. Lo and behold, a pair formed in one back corner of the tank... I could tell that something was going on but...

As I was shutting down the lights in the fish room last night, I noticed that my pair of cryptoheros spilurum were all colored up and chasing others in the tank. Upon closer inspection, there were a handfull of wigglers down in the gravel! Hopefully they are still there when I get home tonight...

Got a good amount of eggs on the outside of a flowerpot in my planted forty breeder. Noticed the eggs today while feeding, the female is very dark and her tube is still extended. Their tank mates are four other Acara and a few zebra danios.

I have four "fry" that came from my original spawn back in the fall. I guess they're not fry anymore because this morning I found the largest female guarding eggs in the very same little flower pot she was hatched in. I also found the male chasing the other 2 females down trying to coerce them...

I picked up this pair from Rapps a few months back. They spawned for the second time on Monday. Unfortunately, I can't remove the wood that the eggs are on and I can't remove the tankmates. I hope to be able to remove some fry if the pair do a good enough job of protecting the eggs.

I reported this in another thread back when they spawned (12/9/13). The fry are doing well. I moved them from a breeder box to a 10 gallon to grow out today. I'll get some pics up soon.

I went ahead and pulled some wigglers from my pair of longimanus that spawned this week. I'll get some pictures once they are big enough to see. The fry are really tiny. Hope they will take to golden pearls easily.

I somehow missed that the female was guarding eggs. I pulled a leaf with a bunch of empty egg shells and 5 egg-shaped wigglers out of the tank this morning and put it in the marina breeder box. The last water change I did on this tank included 4-5 gallons of water I got by melting snow...

Here's another spawn I'm a bit late reporting....I noticed Neolamprologus leleupi wigglers on Jan 7th.
