Thank you all for 2009.
I think we had a good year for both the club and the CCA forum.
Lets look back for a minute on a few items.

On January 17th Li turned on our upgraded forum.
Looking back I find that the original forum was started on April 14th 2003 by JustRon. (Thank you Ron for your idea and your time in starting this forum. )
From April 14th 2003 to January 14th 2009 we produced approx. 20650 posts.
From Jan 17th 2009 to December 31st 2009 the forum had another 28296 posts.
So in 2009 we had more posts than the first 5 1/2+ years.
How great is that.
So thank you to all of you that took the time to post and enjoy this forum.
And Thank you Li for the time you have put into this forum.

in the last few years the CCA club membership has exploded.

We ended
2005 with 53 paid members
2006 with 61 paid members
2007 with 77 paid members
2008 with 115 paid members
2009 with 145 paid members(got one the other day by paypal)

I found one file from December 2003 and we were around 32 with 5 people being corresponding members. (not local)Thats not an official number. lol

Needless to say, things have really taken off the last few years.
We need to keep this up.
Talk to people in stores and hand them a business card.
Keep CCA in your signature on other forums.
The more you post on CCA the more it will draw people in.
Spread the word.
Be an ambassador for the club.
We are at a point now where we need to start doing other things. Shows, workshops, conventions, swap meets etc.
These are always better with larger groups. Keep the new members coming.

Aquafest09

Thank you to all that participated in Aquafest09.
We had the biggest turn out, biggest number of show fish, and made a nice profit while only charging $15.00 for admission for the little convention.

Thanks also go out to GWAPA and PVAS for this event. While each club needs to have its own identity, name, format etc, its nice to know that we can also pull together for the benefit of our members.

I think all that participated had fun.

We had a great lineup of speakers this year.
I am not sure how many other clubs put this quality of speakers together for the benefit of the members.
In 2009 our speakers included:
Kurt Johnston
Mike Hill
Terry Fairfield
Dr Paul Loiselle
Ad Konings
Eric Bodrock
Chuck Rambo
George Richter
Larry Johnson

Our meetings turned into events this year.

The following were the numbers for each month.
Jan 51
Feb 91
March 64
April 70
May 100
June 79
Sept 70
Oct 56
Nov 84
All numbers were plus Children.
That means we averaged 73.9 adults per meeting.
How does this compare to 2008?
In 2008 we averaged 55.4 adults pre meeting.
Wow
:eek::eek::jumpy::eek::eek:

Lets shorten this up a little

We had another great Cook out
We had another great Road Trip
We had another great Holiday Party.

We had a member take over a public library tank
and put on a class for that tank.
We had members donate fish to a public school.

We came up with a refreshment committee.

We bought a projector.
We bought a sound system.

Well it's already been said but thanks to everyone who keeps the wheels rolling! At the end of the month it'll be a year since I got back into fish keeping since I was little. If it wasn't for this community I prob would just have my 46g that started it all.

My first fish club and I struck gold! Thanks everyone, for making it great and fun and for keeping the fish you do and making so many cool fish available locally. Pat you do a great job as prez and we really appreciate it, you deserve a salary! 2010 is gonna be big for this club.

I love the numbers too. :jumpy:
And thank you guys but this was not about me, but about
all of you.
I can lead but if no one shows up then there is not club.

The more we turn out at meetings, the more we can do.
The more members there are the more we can do.

With out the people stepping forward, there would be no holiday party or summer cookout.
With out the people stepping forward there would be no high post numbers or refreshment committee.

Just remember to keep it one step at a time. I can put the club in a direction but it takes the members to fill the sails.
lol
Of course with my hot air....... lol

I have been around tropical fish for over 35 years. I have belonged to many clubs over the years. But when I attended my first CCA meeting it was quite clear that this was something special. For me it is quite simply the atmosphere of the meeting and the members.
I swore that I would never take on another administrative position again. After serving on several clubs boars and spending 14 years as a school boar member. But the CCA has inspired me, along with Kurt Johnston and the exsisting members of the Aquarium Club of Lancaster County to take the club to a new level.
Thank you to the membership of the CCA for providing an organization that inspires others in the hobby.
I'll be at the January meeting, weather permitting.
