Tank Placement?

Years ago when I was putting my 90 on the first floor, I decided to build some shelves in the basement right under the tank. I used verticle 2x4s that went from the basement floor right up beside the joists above. I then screwed them to the joists. I just gave a little more support. Plus it gave me a place to store things in the basement. 2 birds/1 stone.
Never had a problem. Piece of mind.

Our house was built in 1966, We have three rooms full of fish tanks from 125 gal down to 10 gal and everything has been aok!?:unsure: With a unfinished basement. Just my 2 cents.

If I were you weather its my house or im renting I would brace the joists just to be safe.Under $40 bucks for some 4x4's and a couple of hours and youll sleep better.
