Not to derail the discussion (exactly which apisto is that?), but I came home this afternoon to find my rainbow pair guarding about 200 fry in a 55 community tank.

Matt -- congrats. More rainbow fry!!! woo hoo! I gave some to Alyce, Turfboss and, today, Sam. And still have about 15 left in the 20 gallon with their parents guarding wrigglers! When they're happy, they're happy!

That is a apisto bitaentiatia, per Sam.

Here they are, proud parents with fry.

Great picture.

Not sure there's anything more satisfying for a Keeper than seeing parents amid a veritable cloud of babies. Just too cool...

I've got 500+ of these puddled up on the bottom of a tank and ready for lift-off (probably today), should be quite a sight if their Geo tankmates don't do the Hoover thing right away.

I never get tired of that sorta scene. I currently have a pair of Panama cons guarding a whole bunch of fry and it's just breathtaking!
