I went to my lfs and picked up the last 2 females, the manager is getting more this thursday. Thank you so much for the advice. I've already seen what I think is spawning behavior.

Awesome, congrats! They do spawn readily. They have a little bit smaller clutches, being dwarf - my largest demasoni clutches are 25ish, whereas my bigger mbuna can easily hold 40. (Really... wth do I do with 40 red zebras? Poor cute little feeders...) They also have the advantage, being smaller sized, that they can spawn given little space. I have tank of larger fish that spawn relatively seldom due to the difficulty of holding a spawning area, but these guys have no problems. They'll find a little space in the rocks and boom.

Dan, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but, Wendy:

Is it okay that I have mostly 2-3" Demasoni for a month and they haven't spawned??? Thanks!

It's fine. They will when they're ready. At that size, they shouldn't have any problem, but it depends a little bit on their history. If they haven't spawned before, they will still have to "learn how." Females in particular might go a couple times before they hold the duration. Moving to a new tank is also a big upheaval, so they may need a little longer to get acclimated before they are ready to spawn. Remember the female is looking at 3-4 weeks without eating; it is a big, somewhat dangerous sacrifice for her, so she needs to feel real confident about her environment. This can take time.
