Stink Bugs... they're back...

My female bettas didn't like them. Found one on the bottom of their tank this morning, belly up. Couldn't figure out at first why that "rock" looked so odd...hate 'em.

My two 1.5 year old puppies love them. One of my pups is part beagle and she will lift her head up and take off into the next room. If I follow her, I usually find that she is defending our home from yet another stink bug. The chihuahua/pug loves them too. She'll jump up and catch them right out of the air.

I wonder if my bearded dragon would like them?

Guys I'm curious as to what these bugs smell like? I'm too scared to catch one for the sole purpose of sniffing it... I've never squished one but I've flushed a few down the toilet.
When I picked them up with tissue, I don't recall ever smelling a foul odor.

These are perfectly fine for fish to eat?

They smell like cilantro, to me. I think they only smell if you smush or scare them.

As far as I know they are safe for fish to eat, I feed them to my large fish :)

I never thought about feeding stinkbugs to my fish (always scared of what chemicals might be on them) but now, I might have to ask my brother to unload his bugzooka into my tanks.

dude! did you ever tell larry I said hi? haha, haven't seen him in ages.

Most folks in heavily infested areas use some sort of hand-vac/dust buster to suck 'em up. I plan on getting one this spring. last year, I had to spray the inside of my car doors with pesticide to keep them from crawling in there while I was riding my horse. Gave me the fricking heebie jeebies . . .

You know... this kinda has me thinking. Is there a carniverous plant that could live outdoors in this region during the summer?

On the Jersey Shore we did not have nearly the problems as people further South of us did...THAT might change.
On top of one of my styros on Monday night was a Stink Bug.
YIKES.

I apparently brought back stinkbug eggs with me from one of my trips down to Maryland...my house and property was overrun with them during the summer and I still see at least two a day in the house...no idea where they keep coming from because we keep killing them...

To be honest, I have never seen one of these bugs in my life until I drove down to the CCA meetings/BBQ last summer...

Virtually all of them. DC has 'tropic' caliber heat and humidity in the summer, precisely what most of the carnivorous genre come from/crave. And lots of prey.

got one of these rich :)
that actually reminds me of the story of a jewelry store in germany that got robbed repeatedly. They tried security systems new locks the works and still got robbed. finally they got a tarantuala in a cage and put it in the window with a sign that said "these premises contain trained attack spiders". Not a break in since.
