I'm a little late to the thread (was away last week) but I own both fixtures, one 48" DB T5no and three 30" coralife fixtures. They are both good fixtures, both grow low light plants in my tanks. The DB fixture is only a few months old, haven't had a problem with it. I've owned the coralife fixtures for several years now, never a problem with them either.

Haven't tried, and probably never will try to use a HO bulb with a NO ballast.

Finally got my solarmax light and it's amazing! Nice quality and great lights the LEDs are what won me over, so strong! Maybe too strong lol cardinals tetras look fluorescent XD
