Showing fish

Just bag or bucket the fish with plenty of water, leave them in the bag for as little time as possible... And cover the show tank

Cichlids are tough

Yeah I was fortunate enough to hear Frank Cowherd's talk on showing fish and his talk really confirmed that even I could do it.

a key is to not feed them for 2-3 days prior to the show

You don't want them pooping in the show tank or bag

I still do water changes and add a little polyfilter

There's an awesome book on it as well ("A Fish Out of Time"). It's quite a story.

Check out this website: http://www.dinofish.com/

There is footage of live ones...

PS The actual fish going into the 20g is one of the most primitive new world cichlids. Any guesses?

That website is awesome. Never seen a video of a live coelecanth. The way they move their fins is crazy. Sort of reminds me of propellers on a submarine.
