I have been pretty lazy posting spawns but with all of these snow days, I'm able to get caught up on a bunch of stuff I had been putting off. Like this, I purchased a big group of 1.5" juvies from Cichlids Are Special and set up a donated 55 in my classroom. That was a year ago in October when Greg Steeves was in town! 
Can't believe its been that long ago. I have had the group spawn last spring and fall of 2013, but I never saved any fry. Now I have a grow out tank just for them and I'm saving fry. I returned from Turkey Break to find two females holding. I let them hold for a good 3 weeks and stripped them on December 18th 2013. I have about 26 fry from the two ladies growing out. These photos were taken the week of January 6 2014 after we returned from break.
They are a CARES fish and have been endangered since they looked for them in 2006(?)
