Official case of MTS

This sounds like so much more fun than working from home. Wish I could help!

My husband just stopped me from buying a 72 bow front because we're out of outlets in the basement. Of course, he then came home with an eheim 2217, Aquaclear 70, and a bunch of cheesy decs and filter media he got for $60 on CL.

Sounds familiar. CL is where I found my 70g. But I had no one to stop me:D

BTW it only gets worst and there is no known cure other than a spouse who wont take anymore.... i was up to 22 tanks 2 years ago and my wife told me if i was planning on charging for admission to our basement some of the tanks had to go... so went down to 8 and now back up to 12 some how....

i figure if you have to have something wrong with you why not MTS?????

Anytime after Aquamania is perfect. I can't wait for it!

Organize a field trip from the event... You'd be amazed what people will volunteer for when alcohol is offered...

Hopefully you can find one or two to help you with everything. Good luck in advance.

I'd offer, but I'm about 90 miles away.

Good idea. I'll throw an Aquamania after-party.

Alexandra, I live in Gaithersburg and work in Bethesda. Would be happy to help out any time. Just gotta let the dust settle from the convention.

Thank you, I would be so grateful for the help. I can't wait to meet everyone at the convention.

Your husband did very well. I saw that listing and thought an Eheim 2217 for $60 is a sweet deal, never mind the other stuff!

My wife has pointed out free tanks on neighborhood list serves two or three times, so she deserves credit, too.

I need to see these list serves. I need a bigger filter for my new tank.

I've rarely seen a filter by itself on a neighborhood listserve. I think your best bets are (1) club auctions, (2) eBay, and (3) Craigslist.

Your lucky to have a spouse that is an enabler! I've gotten my wife to admit that she thinks that plecos are cute, just cant get her to take the leap and become a keeper. :p

I will wear her down someday!!!

Yeah, he sent me a link for a 20 gallon today (less space, but same number of outlets) but I hate the dimensions of 20's - they are a bit too far from the golden ratio for me. Now I have two BIG filters and a bunch of media and other stuff in the basement and no tank to put them on. I must fix this!!!

The Hubs and I enable each other. If I hadn't gone and taught him how to keep his piranhas alive, happy, and healthy (then bought him 2 more BIG ones) I wouldn't be looking at a 150 gallon that is full of unfulfilled possibilities, a gaggle of Raphael cats, and 4 geriatric piranhas.

I think he's planning to put it on the 150 to replace the 2213 that's on the left side - then it'll be running on two 2217s...

We do have the Aqua Clear 70 and some filter media... You don't happen to want 4 Geriatric Red Bellies, do you? I think they'd just looove a 70 gallon, considering they only use about half of the 150.

I don't know if the red bellies would get along with my ghost knife, or my mated angels. I have never raised any before. What are they like? Are they vicous like all the movies portray?

I just discovered that the dimensions of my new tank make it a 55g instead of the 70g I was told it was. Being inexperienced with eye-balling size, I am pretty disappointed it is smaller :(. I was soooo looking forward to making the tank a whole wall in my place. *Sigh*

Ah, no, they will not. Red Bellies aren't as vicious as movies portray, but they do eat other fish and have voracious appetites. What they won't do is eat your arm if you stick it in the tank. In fact, if you do that, they will cower in the corner like a bunch of sissies and, occasionally, swim into a log or the side of the tank hard enough to knock themselves out.

I hate you all!! Four tanks now. Running in my 1 bedroom apartment. I decided to set up my 45 as a straight up breeder. My MTS is relapsing!
