Since the meeting was canceled, I put the Biotope in the mail Saturday.
I know one person has already gotten it.

I want to thank Francine again for a wonderfull product.

Like I stated before, Write. Please.

You too could be seen in print.
How did you get into the hobby? Everyone started somewhere.
Talk about a show you went to?
Breeding a certain type of fish?
Building a fish room?
Building a new stand?
Found a product you like?
The ideas are endless. You could even tell people about your mistakes.
I ran an series of these a couple of years ago....."I made mistakes, why should you"

Send them to Francine.

Let us know what you think.

Well, there is one thing that would have made it better, but I hesitate to bring it up...

The articles regarding the Afra's would have been better if the pictures were in color. The reason that I hesitated to bring it up is that I am all too familiar with the cost of printing in color. That would definitely have made it better.

If enough people want full color Biotope's, maybe we could arrange for a bake sale type event to raise money periodically to cover the cost. Or even better, maybe we could raise some money over time to purchase a color laser printer for this very task.

There is one that I want to buy for myself that only costs $399 and will take paper sizes upto 8.5" x 47" so it could be used to make banners as well.

Maybe we could have a few mini-auctions for the sole purpose of raising the required funds. Just a thought. I know that I would be willing to donate some fish (my wife would certainly be willing to donate some of my fish  ) for such a purpose. Heck, I'd even be willing to toss a buck or two into a mason jar at the meetings.

OK...OK...enough of my rambling. You will soon see that I don't just complain, I will suggest solutions to! :D

We used to make them ourselves also. The problem was that getting the people together to do it was always a problem. The quality was not quite there either. We hope to go back to all color processing in the near future if we can get some sponsors. I have sent a letter out to manufactures and local stores to try to sell some ads. We will see.
I get the publications from a couple of other clubs and most are just printed on a copy machine let alone color anything. I think ours stacks up pretty well for the size of the club. One of our other members also has a good laser printer, I just seems easier this way. For now anyway. If you get the printer, maybe we could try one of copy and compare it to the printer's work.
And don't worry, I look all suggestions. And take all help.
