Ok, I was messing with the Cynotilapia Afra's tank today, and found a couple more fry.....

So I'll post my first check photos here now.

Does it matter that they are from different broods, but from the same tank?

They can be from different broods :)[/b]

Great!!!! I was wondering if I would have to pull a holding female out of the tank and let her spit in a 10!!!!! Its MUCH easier to let them spit in the tank and make the fry survive by their won wits...

Anther spawn!!!! And at SUCH an inconvenient time......

I had an Astatotilapia Calliptera female spit between 3 hrs and 30 minutes ago (I checked about 3 hrs ago, and no fry, and then 30 min ago there were a whole bunch!!!!!). And here I'm going to ACA and my sister gets to care for the babies....

Oh well. And then, to add insult to injury, I go back to get a pic, and they are all gone!!!!! And it looks like momma is holding again.... As some Haps will do this, I'm not too worried...... So the pic will have to wait until momma is willing to let the babies come out and play....

Later!
Amanda.

Ok, she (the Astatotilapia Calliptera female) let the babies out to play, for a little while at least.... This is what I was able to capture:

(Note to self: Don't put holding females in a tank with black gravel with white bits in it)

Later!
