Anyone have pics of a double bright on a 6ft or bigger tank?
For a 72 inch tank, should you do 1 (48'' to 60'') fixture or 2 (24'' to 36'')?

This is for a Malawi non planted tank.

Frank, I have a 48" Finnex FugeRay on my 6' tank, along with 2 36" MonsterRay, (couldn't find a Good 72" LED fixture) the 48" light up the tank perfectly, because the light spreads.

LEDs -

Cons

Not very good at stimulating plant growth

Not so. Check out the most recent issue of Amazonas, in which GWAPA's Kris Weinhold compares several LED fixtures used on his densely planted tanks. For plant growth, it's all about the PAR...

Or, check out the GWAPA forums for discussions on their experience with LED fixtures, many of which are DIY.

Frank,
I bought 2-48" Beamswork LED's at Aquatraders, each fixture has 172 white led's and 6 moonlight led's...they were $62 apiece plus free shipping...I can only use 1 on my 7ft tank...it's to bright with both of them on.. I've had them for about 4 mos now

Search for the thread "considering led" lots of very good info for people on the fence or with questions. I have switched all my tanks to led some are definitely better than others. You don't have to spend big bucks to get a great light though.

Thanks. What's the plan with the second one?
