Huge Paladarium

So I kept thinking I needed to go bigger and this time I went all out. Lucky for me I just happen to build acrylic tanks now and decided to use this 8'x3'x3' as a paladarium. This is going to be the home of 3 different dart frog species, gonatodes geckos, a tree frog species possibly, discus, tetras, apistogrammas, angel fish, red lizards, L-400 plecos, and a few other goodies. Enjoy the pictures

The stand was built, painted, tank placed, plumbed and filter installed, and 15" of water added. More to come by Sunday :)

Wow. Amazing tank, Chris with a pretty ambitious stocklist! :)

Interested to see updates as I'm not all to familiar with paladrium construction.... how does two 5-gal buckets and some egg crate turn into dry land?

Certainly keep up updated.

Thanks everyone! Ill be sure to share photos as the process goes along. I would love to talk about paludariums at the meeting if asked ;)

So the tank is filled up with water and the substrate is in. I created my own sand mixture to make is very similar to what I saw in Brazil/ Peru for the water substrate. Just waiting for the water to clear up now so I can move to the next step

so how much to build a tank like this?

This acrylic tank alone is $1700 as it a double bullnose and is 93x30x33" tall. After its all said and done w/ fish, frogs, plants, equipment, and lights it will be well over $3500. This doesn't even count the hours of time I will be spending on this either but then again I want this to look nice so not rushing it.

Finally my driftwood came in after two weeks waiting lol. Here is a little teaser of what we got to go in the paladarium. Also I will have some pieces for sale too that are from 12" to 60".
