you don't have to change stuff on account of us, I just dodn't think its my idea of a fun holiday party for the club if my kids couldnt' go...they have missed 2 meetings in a year and have even attended conventions, lol. They would never forgive me!

Well the club has grown significantly and the desires are varied. What would the membership prefer?

Holiday Party:

@ member's home?
@ rented hall?
@ regular meeting place?

i am not trying at all to get anything changed to suit my family. I want to make that clear. But my kids would never forgive me if I went to a CCA party and they didn't, they have hit every meeting save 2 and every extra-curricular (including travel to OH). I think that the holiday party should have libation, and at the police hall might not work in that regard.

There have been some kids in the past, just not a lot.
I don't see why not.

So far I have 2 people offering to host.
Both are good locations for this club.

I really don't see us having fun at Layhill.

Really don't think we can afford another location.

To me a home is the best.
But I will give a few days after the upcoming event and then we will decide.
No hurry at this point.

Not that I'm advocating any one choice - but how many people do you suppose will come? Seems to me, it might need to be a fairly large home. But, I also think it would be more fun at someones home instead of a rented place.

I'm fine either way about the kid thing - honestly I enjoy them with me at the meetings, but I also enjoy not being "Mommy" for awhile, too.

Maybe we will revisted the idea... When things first started we didn't have but maybe 1 or two kids....

Alcohol was invloved at the BBQ at Richards and everything went fine...

I like the fact we have so many kids at the meetings and want it to stay that way so maybe the board needs to take a new vote on this.... just an idea Pat :p Could be done via email.

Of course we probably woulnd't have convo's about cougars then

1st if we have to rent a hall and the club is straped for money I am pretty sure members of the club would be more than happy to donate money for the holiday party. 2nd where ever we have it I will bring a small TV with a DVD player so the kids could watch a movie and we could get back to the cougar talk lol. What ever it takes to have the cougar talk! lol:D

I AGREE THEY HAVE ENOUGH PATIES WITH SCHOOL CHURCH ETC. I TOO ENJOY THE KIDS AROUND BUT SOMETIMES WE NEED A KID BREAK FROM OUR LITTLE " ANGELS";) THATS MY 2 CENTS. EITHER WAY I WOULD HAVE A GOOD TIME.

Talked it over with the wife and while my house would be tight for 50-60 folks in the winter, we'd be happy to host the summer cookout next year. I regularly have parties where I cook up 6-7 pork shoulders.

I live in Gaithersburg, 10 minutes off the 370 exit off of 270.

I do live right near the Rio. It's where we go see our movies most of the time.

As a matter of fact, it is a great venue for any sort of large event that one may consider hosting. Lots of room that the public may get to wander through; a very nice hotel - conducive to conferences; other cheaper hotels within walking distance; lots of shopping and restaurants/bars; easily accessible to I-370 and about 10 minutes drive from the Shady Grove metro. All in all a great place...

Why do you ask? ;)

(EDIT: I'll shut up before I get myself in trouble)
