Twice but had a doa one time. The place promised live arrival and offered to replace the fish but I had to pay the shipping. A $7 fish wasn't worth another $40 of shipping.

I ship fish to people a lot... so I find this complete crap and bad business.

I'm sorry but if you get 1 doa out of lets say 6 fish. They should refund you for the 1 fish. I hate this practice in the hobby. Good sellers will refund you or ship the fish out for free to keep you as a customer.

I order online for almost all my fish. Other than what I buy from Julie and the auction.... and random buy from hobbyists. You get much better fish....

I don't need to see the fish.... I trust my sources and know how they keep their fish.

I've never been in an area that had legitimate breeders or shops that carried quality stock, not to mention the fish that I generally pick out wouldn't be found in shops. When I decide on a fish to keep, it's after much research, both into the fish species as well as who has them. I will be trying to buy more fish from the more local folks ie. Julie, Sarah, and other CCA folks, but I figure I will still be ordering from other trusted online sources. It's the only way to get great stock and the more rare species. I have no concerns about the fish being shipped as they handle it real well, but I do expect at some point to have a floater... it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Interesting poll! I've always been kind of worried as you generally cannot see the actual fish prior to purchasing but given the positive results here, I may reconsider and give it a shot.

Technically I bought off the internet; I bought cories from The Amazon Basement, with excellent results. However, they were not shipped to me, so I'm not sure that counts.

I can still remember the very first time I ordered via the internet. The gentlemans name was Bill and he had Utinta Cyps that I wanted. He sent them, during the Summer, next day UPS. Out of absolute nervousness I drove around town to see if I could bump into the UPS driver. I found the big brown truck, asked for my box, and was happy to see that all survived.

I will still order via internet, but if the person is within a few hour drive I would much rather drive.

I wanted to the first time I got fish in... infact the fish were from Julie. YEARS ago ! UPS didn't get to my place till 6:30 that day.... so I was going bonkers !

The only internet fish I received over the past few years were from Ted Judy. All the fish were in terrific shape.
I ordered from Uncle Ned's Fish in the 80's before there was an internet and the fish were always fine.
