Anyone else remember a time when the only phone in the house was on the wall of the kitchen...connected to a cord? Lots of privacy there...

A lot of guys that aren't good guys ask a girl over the social networks or anything except in person or a phone call etc. Most guys just ask in person, for 8th grade formal, that is.

My little brother asked the girl to meet him down town and surprised her with a large sign asking her to prom. I'm glad the some young men are not loosing the skill to communicate face to face.

yep, and remember how it was somehow possible to meet up with friends in various locations without constant texts and calls about running late, etc. somehow people made plans and everyone was there...looking back on those days its amazing how anything ever happened.

Communication has come a long long way in 25 years. Scary to think where it will be in another 25. The internet is nice but imo its going to be the downfall of humanity.remember when you had to go to the library if you wanted to learn about something, Or the post office to ship something or...........

The methods have gotten easier. This type of site would have been a Fidonet feed back before the Internet and required users to have some IT skills access its content. We did have global "email" before the Internet although I was in the extreme minority that used it.

Unfortunately our skills at communication have to be at all time lows. Were I to have written Shakespeare's MacBeth in high school and misspelled/misused 13 words, the teacher would have written "You must publish this" at the top along with a "C". How many of us now know the difference between its and it's, than and then, or their there and they're. Don't even get me started on coherent sentences.

Scary... I agree until Google Translate includes the Gibberish to English option. There was a night time sports talk show here in DC that used to take tweets from Redskin's players and translate back to English. Some of the players took offense and it was dropped, I guess the shame was too much for them.

Ehh not the down fall remember as we loose some skills we should learn others. I think instant gratification is bad we need to learn more patience...we shouldn't blame technology...
