I'm bringing some Lamprologus Stapperssi. A few bags of groups of three (unsexed). [/b]

Oh, I love strapps! They are so cute. But my husband liked the brighter colors of gold occies so that is what we are going with :D

Hey, I can't wait till Saturday's Meeting!

I'm looking forward to the speaker and the food as well. And of course the camaraderie of all the members too.

In particular, on what Charlie Campisi's ideas will be on the Do-It-Yourself building of a stand and canopy.

The meeting is going to be beneficial for me because I definitely need to learn how to build my own stands. Most of my tanks are on the floor so I guess I will be taking lots of notes. ;)

Yup, notes for me too. (Maybe we can talk them into handing out a worksheet or two that explains How to build a stand and canopy for a fishtank. Diagrams or pictures would be helpful.)

Speaker+food+friends+save money, a great combo. The February 9 CCA meeting sounds really interesting.

I am also trying to rope a neighbor who sometimes does repairs on his own house...to attend...in order to learn how to build stands. Their family has fishtanks now after falling in love with mine 3 years ago. (Ah, then I'd have a friend nearby who could build stands for me. Everything I have ever built went  :confused0024: :mad0259: :sad0121: :sad0017: )

On a different subject about the meeting today. What do you all think about having name tags. Since we have so many new faces, perhaps having sticky name tags with name and screenname may be helpful. I can bring them if we need them.

Bobby, I like that idea. It will help all of the new people feel like they are part of things.

Another GREAT meeting. I want to thank Charlie for stepping up and putting his presentation together. Charlie is going to replace that split piece of wood on the stand and bring it back for the auction at the March meeting.

By my count we had right around 40 people in attendance and a lot of new faces (always like to see new members). As I have to do after every meeting, I need to apologize for not being able to get out from around the table long enough to meet everyone. Since it was a meatball month, I spent my free time eating! :angel2:

Our mini auction was a tad bit larger than usual and there was a wide assortment to chose from. Some bidders got some EXCELLENT deals.

I hope everyone had fun today. Thanks again for coming out. See you next month!!

We need a new auctioneer![/b]

Naw. (sp?) I know you are just kidding. I think we'll keep the auctioneer. The auction was a big success. Some good deals. Some great BAP fry. All sorts of things for auction. Many people bid and the winners went home happy. I liked the auctioneer's sense of humor. (For those of you new to the CCA 'JustRon" was the auctioneer....Now you see how funny he can be.)

DC: I missed your "Oh Yeah". But then, if you had been there today you might have bid on the fishy I had my heart set on.

The February meeting of CCA was fun. Wasn't it great to see so many new faces. A big hearty WELCOME to all who were in attendance for the first time!

I have to go finish setting up the top on that last tank for my new fish so they can't jump out. Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Later,
Marge

A lot of good informtaion. Thank you Charlie :) Now Bill doesn't have to build racks for people !!! You can do it your dang self !!! :p

I had a great time as well. Those plants were fantastic looking ! Even if you paid 20+ dollars you got a steal !

Lots of people participated in the BAP. I have a lot of work thanks to you guys :p I'll update the points this week.

I had a lot of fun speaking. Great audience too. I know I pushed the envelope on time. I'll have that stand fixed up for the next auction. You have to admit it was a great demonstration of how to crack wood!

We all know how much work our officers put into each meeting. I got a little more insight yesterday and want to thank them again. They are there before 1p and didn't leave yesterday til 6p or later. I think their hard work shows in how successful our meetings are. I also took home a 20g tank and heater yesterday just for posting on the forum during Mike's forum promotion of 2007. Great club!
