I think this would be a great tank to house a mated pair of mermaids. I would think 1,000 gallon would be adequate for a pair. would need to bump up the filtration probably.

if you missed the ground breaking documentary, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxadGCUlu4k

Ha! Saw bits and pieces of that a few weeks ago.

I'm just still bitter over Discovery's Megalodon show... fooled me completely.

Sigh.

(Yeah, I know...I'm dumb)

I'd rather keep a male betta in there. Imagine the colors you'd get out of him with all that space!

I'd also put a nice lone crypt wendtii in the center for a scape.

@Tony - They put a ton of effort into that 'documentary'. When it started off I was more stunned that they had this evidence. Then as it progressed it clicked what they were doing. I can't believe they built that giant whale decoy. That had to cost a pretty penny.

You can keep discus without doing a lot of water change. Juvenile discus need lots of water change to help with their growth. With such a large tank, you can run a refugium for adult discus and don't even need that much water change.

Lol more than double the price! Instead of building their own tanks it seems they do more buying used and selling high!
