BAP: super red ancistrus

On christmas I found the male guarding a small clutch of eggs in the back of the pleco cave. Yesterday I moved the fry into a breeder net and I just dropped in some zuchini for them to eat.
I'm really excited to grow these guys out.
Once my camera is finished recharging, I'll post some pics

Here are the fry:
It doesnt look like there are allot but there where like 10 under the zuchini and allot of them excaped the breeder net
They havnt touched their zuchini wich kind of concerns me, i've never had bns ignore zuchini. Is there another food they would most likely eat?

give them some little pieces of driftwood from another tank, if you have some. I find that sometimes the like to suck on the biofilm on driftwood.

Becca, do you have any banna leaves at the moment? If so can i purchace a few at the next meeting? And if not, where did you get them?

I get them at Great Wall, Global Food, or other international grocers. A whole package is $3 or less. They are with the frozen foods. Thaw them, hang to dry, tear off pieces and give them a quick rinse before adding to the tank. The little plecos love them. So do shrimp. If you can't find them, let me know.

The plecos love the banana leaves also it helps prevent fungus and stuff I first got turned in to it by a Betta breeder.

They ignored the leaves and i found 2 dead

I dropped in some more cucumber and some spirulina flakes and the fry devoured both
Hopefully they'll be ready for aquamania
