I've had a lonely male Apisto redneck for a while, and picked up the female redneck from our auction this past November. Well, she colored up a lovely combination of yellow with black and has been harassing him since I put her in the tank. I haven't seen either fish for a while aside from the occasional fleeting glimpse of fin or an eye peeking out from a cave.
Well, turns out she's been busy. They've spawned and she's got a bunch of wigglers in one of the Pleco caves!
I wasn't expecting them to spawn so soon so I hadn't been laying attention to water parameters. They're in regular tap water in a planted 15 gal tank. The fishroom is on the cooler side, with tanks around 70F. I wonder how this will affect the gender ratio of the fry.
