After growing out these guys for some time, what I thought was a big female turned out to be another male. I was out of town a couple weeks ago and came home to find the colored up male thrashed and the new boss strutting his stuff. Guess after taking control of the tank, he got to business. I stripped about 20 babies this evening.

I'm excited that I got to pull some fry. Last time I saw one holding, I stripped too early and lost the eggs to fungus.

My group originally came from Jim Peck. Thanks again, Jim!

Well done, Jon - becoming quite the old world breeder!

Matt

It may be luck, it may be that I picked easy stuff to breed, but so far so good. It's for sure different than trying to breed big central American cichlids.

My w/c amphilophus labiatus spawned a couple of days ago (right in the middle of my 180, of course). I may be able to pull wigglers today, if they make it.
