I love rift lake cichlids.... But I have to say that it is fantastic to see the breadth of topics that they have scheduled. Not only are they recognizing some of the more current interests in the hobby with respect to the fish themselves, the mini-workshop idea with other topics is fantastic. Nice to see some new names (especially CCA members...) on there as well. Wow, hats off to Atlanta!

Bill lived in Georgia for a while... tells me all about it all the time. I wonder if I can get him to go to this one !!

Looks like they've done a great job this year as Andrew stated. Should be fairly cheap to fly.

It should be amazing for the amount of time they invested in getting ready for it. The preparation began before I joined AAAA in September of 2006 when I was down there working for Home Depot. I sat in on a couple of the early preparation meetings and was thoroughly impressed with the details that they were already discussing in Oct Nov time frame of 06. I intend to get down there if the schedule allows for it. Rusty Wessel will be a great speaker as he spoke when I was down there and he has some amazing video clips of fish underwater, in mating colors in a valley that was relatively unexplored in Mexico. He also brought some amazing specimens that he donated to AAAA for their auction.

I hope to be going.
A concern has come up with work. Needs to be worked out first. May not be able to get off.

Robert, you are right. I know Ken has been working on it for a good while.
Both he and Rusty have been up here the last two years to speak. We always enjoy them.

OK. Here's what we do. The club rents a bus, and we all drive down to the canals outside the Miami Everglades, where we go dipnetting for feral cichlids. We stop off at a 7 11, buy some styros, and mail what we get to Frank Cowherd to keep for us until we get back.

After we stop at a Cuban restaurant or two, we drive up to Miami and catch the ACA meeting. Are ya with me?

(sigh. I can dream.)

Are we flying from Miami to Atlanta for this conference and then having the bus meet us up there to take us home? You lost me middream I think.....

Bob, you slay me! Sounds exciting though. But with the ACA convention you'll not want to miss a thing.

I'm trying to decide whether to fly or whether Lynn and I will drive down. After missing two in a row, I'm chomping at the bit.

If it's in the same hotel that Atlanta booked last time...OH YEAH!!!!!.

Flying is a short hop, but last year I got screwed by the airlines. I waited for almost 6 hours before they finally canceled my flight.

I want to see all of these:

Uwe Römer: Apistogramma (Banquet Speaker)
Ron Neilson: "Madagascar"
Hans Koops van't Jagt: "Discus"
Ted Judy: West African
Wayne Leibel: Discus Nomenclature

When dd Uwe get the Banquet spot? I thought it was to be Wayne. I'll check the schedule again. Gary Lange's photo workshop was a good one.

I'm driving.

Climate control for my award winning Discus as well as my yet to be acknowledged future winners :D

Hate flying; if I'm not at the controls I'm not happy - increases alcohol consumption to unthinkable, although attained, levels.

Sonny Disp.: a man with a plan: ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ABORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD!!!!!!! with ya man

Paul.
