    Egg yolks for mbuna?

I eat a lot of HB eggs, and always throw out the yolk. Just occurred to me that perhaps the mbuna would like them. Any reason not to feed them to the fish? Oh, they're from chicken eggs.

My new 100g tall Mbuna tank!

Here is my new tank, they are loving the space! And they so do use the top half of the tank, lol. I also have a Q, what bottom dweller can live with them? I've heard Featherfin catfish, Rainbow shark, BN pleco and the common catfish that live in their river. Another Q, could I add more fish...

Treating Mbuna illnesses and fry Qs

I noticed two of my fish got fungus/tail rot, another just died out of the blue. I have no idea how you would go about treating them if they are impossible to catch. No way I will remove all the rocks and such and stress everyone else while trying to catch one fast sick fish. There's nearly no...

    150g mbuna setup

I have a 150 gallon empty tank. For a mbuna biotope, I'm going for an unreal amount of rockwork. I did lots of research on the foam backgrounds so I'm going to attempt doing the background myself. First I went rock collecting to find the types of rocks I want to use. I found a granite rock...

    Breeding Angry Mbuna?

So I sort of unintentionally waylaid Sarah's contracted maintenance thread a bit responding to Matt Quinn's comment about not stocking the client's tank with auratus. I joked back that I was more leaning towards M chipokae, M. crabro (bumblebee), P. polit or M. lombardoi (kenyi). Funny, having...

    Algae control in mbuna tanks

In my 65g mbuna tank I had been keeping a 12"+ common pleco, but the mbuna weren't very nice to him, so I moved him to our 90g planted discus tank, which he loves. Surprise, surprise, I've since had an outbreack of powdery brown algae all over the glass and rocks. It is easily scraped off the...

    Stocking Advice

Hey all, I have a few questions about mbuna stocking. Right now, I have a 20 gallon tank with 5 young demasoni (4, 1.2'' and 1, 2'') but they hide ALL day long and I want to add some more variety to the tank. 1) Would it be irresponsible to add more fish to such a small tank? (I was thinking...
