Looking for some info on these 2. Wondering about temper, size, how they coexist with each other, others of their kind, or other fish. How hard are each to keep? I know theres some people that have kept them in "croweded" tanks, even with other fish such as Africans. I know theres always...
I added 2 fish to my tank today and plan on adding a few more on Wednesday and now my jack is hiding behind the filter and kinda just chilling there will he be okay? Anything I can do to help him out?

Two juvenile gold Jack Dempseys about 2 to 2.5 inches that carry the electric blue gene $16 each also have 7 to 8 2.5 to 4 inces (hard to count them when there are so many hiding places) regular Jack Dempseys that are blue gene carriers $7 each...(these go for $20 at the shops)...or $60 takes...
So I have had a jack dempsy for a year or two now and it has severely injured and/or killed every cichlid I have tried to put with it. Recently a friend gave me his jack dempsy and I put the two together. My jack has not hurt the new jack at all. Every so often it thrusts its body in dominance...
I have a jack dempsey breeding pair forsale or trade, i will sell the pair for $50 or willing to trade for a Large pink convict pair. I just took the free swimming fry from the pair and will get pics soon, if interested please call or text me at 410-800-9742.
My mated pair of JDs just spawned and have gone through the typical courtship mouthing, lip locking, etc. The male has beaten up the female a little more than usual and she has developed a little cloudy eye from likely scratching her eye on a rock and some scraped up scales. Turned off the...

Would a black banded Leporinus be an ok tank mate for an adult Jack Dempsey? Right now they are both juveniles and seem to largely ignore each other. There is an adult Firemouth in there with them who rules the tank. Though once grow I don't think the playing field should level out, which is why...
Would an adult Jack Dempsey and a Leporinus Fasciatius be ok tank mates? I know you can never tell with any fish but I am hoping in most cases they would be a good match. Thanks for any input in advance,

You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the tank, but I have sold aroung 140 of them. I still have at least 50 or so left. I just need to get rid of the rest of these so I can transfer my other new worlds to that tank.
Bring a bag or bucket and take as many as you want.
So my JDs laid eggs yesterday for the 3rd time in a month. Yes a month. They've been laying eggs, on average, every week and a half. Its asburd. Anyhow neither of the previous batches survived and Im wondering whats going wrong. The JDs have gone throw identical processes each time, digging out...

I have a free large jack dempsey, large frontosa, some kind of cichlid and a sucker fish. You pick up.
I am looking for someone who has experience breeding EBJDs. I have a pair of JDs that spawned about a month ago. The babies are about 1/3" and I am seeing alot of blue sparkle on some of them. My question is; are EBDJs hatched blue and black or do they turn blue as they approach juvenile stage?
Free 4-5" Jack Dempsey. I believe it is a male. I've had him since he was about 1" big. Great eater, never had any health issues. Local pick up near Damascus or I can possibly deliver if not too far.
Need to rehome an adult male jack dempsey. He is about 2 years old and is ready to spawn. The female I have him with is his sister, and I got another male for her so big bro has to go. Looking to get 15$ for him.
