Ok, so I've got a few batches of Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos (Maingano) fry that I've been raising and they've been developing a variety of color intensities. How do I judge what's "good" color on these guys? I noticed that one female produces much darker colored fry than the other female, but...

Love these guys. Have a group of 4 males and I think 16 females, so expecting that once they get going I should have a lot of fry. Pulled the first 4 tonight. Very psyched about it. Hooray for me! :D:blush::D:blush:

Beauty in motion even at a small size. I have a grow out tank with these now 1/2 inch fry. This is the "Yellow Head". Here's daddy. Hard to believe they start out like this. Zooming in on a pellet that got stuck in the grass (plastic). Sometimes I will drop in one or two small pellets...

On March 13th, my L. Ornatipinnis pair had their first spawn. The female was eating the fry unfortunately. I was able to pull 5 of the fry out into a breeder net. Now on April 13th, my L. Ornatipinnis pair had their second spawn. This time I pulled 21 fry from the pair's tank into yet another...

Have had about 9 or so yellow lab fry growing in a 20g tank for almost a month now. They are healthy and active. If anyone is interested let me know. $2 per lab.
