Back on November 20th, I noticed Apistogramma cacatuoides 'Orange Flash' fry in my 90g planted Discus tank. I was able to count at least six at the time, but they were small (maybe 1/4") and very hard to see.
They are now between 3/8" and 1/2", and are starting to swim all over the tank, not...
I have fry that are now free swimming and eating BBS. Hatched during Aquafest - 7.0 ph, 78 degrees. I need batteries for my hardness meter so I have no idea on that spec. Tank is a 20L with one male and three females. Another female was sitting on eggs, however, those don't seem to have made...
So at Aquafest, my wife and I became enamored with the apistogrammas that the Orsos had, and we bought three pair - macmasteri, cacatuoides, and agassizzi. All three pairs went into a heavily planted 90g tank. Did we do a bad thing?
Will these species cross-breed? Will they get aggressive with...
I have free swimming fry :D I thought my female was still too young, she sure proved me wrong! Here are some incredibly crappy pics. I have about 15 fry I think, hard to tell. This is the same pair i posted pics of the other day.
These guys are juvies I got from a buddy of mine in NYC. They have really colored up. Sorry the pics are dark, I really need a better flash but you will at least get the idea of their beauty.
am looking for a male.... hoping to replace the one who has perished....if any one may have any leads please contact me (rsretep on forum) or (rsretep@hotmail.com)
thanks pete
They aren't the best pics - and they did not care for the flash. The third girl kept in hiding, I couldn't get a pic of her. But here are the guys I won at the auction!
Hi,
Our Steel blue Apistogramma fry are doing well.
On Tues they will be 2 weeks old. I'm thinking
about pulling them at 3 weeks. I have a few questions. We have
about 15 fry. :D
1. What size tank? 2 1/2 , 5 or 10 gallon.
( I can move them to a bigger tank as they grow)
2. What age would you...
Well i would say about 6 weeks to about 2 months ago i went up to Glen burnie and bought 6 Apisto. c.'s (atleast thats what they were marked as, ill try and get a picture on here for verification) from the House of Tropics, and yesterday i found one barely clinging to life with its tail fin all...
Looking for a pair of Apistogramma spp. I'm not overly picky as to which ones specifically, but I'd prefer something on the smaller scale. I have a 32 gallon planted tank and would like to see if I can get a pair to breed.
Agassizii
Nijsseni
Macmasteri
Bitaeniata!
Gibbiceps
Panduro
If anyone...

Hi all. Two or three weeks ago, I broke down and actually bought some cichlids. I was wandering around in the Maryland House of Tropicals, looking for something to put in my 65 gallon high. I was about to buy some baby angelfish, when I saw a tank labeled "Apistogramma cacatuioides." They...
Hello all,
Can anyone shed light on what the "50" means after the name Apistogramma inca? I bought a pair of A. inca at the auction workshop (ur fish franny) and when I got home I jumped online to do research on them. I barely found anything, then I looked at Ron's site and he has them...
