Petrochromis Fry

I have at least 2 Petrochromis sp. 'Texas Gold' fry. I have seen them swimming around the rocks. Hopefully there are more in hiding. I pretty much seem to have at least 1 female holding everytime I look in the tank *knocks on wood*. If I wasn't so lazy, I could have plenty of fry. It is just a pain to break down the tank to net and strip holding females. I will try for some photos this weekend.

Can you not net them while they sleep? It may take a few nights to catch them napping not in the rocks, but sooner or later they'll sleep or drift in the open. Net them, strip them and back in the tank before they're fully awake. No removal of rocks or decorations necessary.

They rarely drift out of the rocks and it is often VERY hard to determine if they are holding (tricky little suckers).

This is all part of a little experiment. I want to see how many, if any, will survive if I leave them be in the tank. The tank will be broken down every couple of months to get all the 'stuff' that gets stuck in the rock piles. I will pull fry when I clean the tank. If that doesn't work, I will go to plan B.
