My other Old World spawn this week were Ruby Reds. I pulled about 2 dozen. Parents are from Craig (Rastafish) and the male from Holly.

Epic fail on my part. I put the babies in a breeder net attached to the side of the tank with suction cups. I put a little bit of sand in the bottom of the net to keep the adults from trying to pick at the babies. I guess the sand was too heavy, as the breeder net was on the bottom of the tank this morning when I came downstairs. Maybe the babies were savvy enough to hide in the rocks, but I have my doubts.

One reason I switched to the 1/2g plastic basins (from the Dollar store) - too many babies got eaten through the net or the nets fall down.

They'll breed again :)

Ironically, haven't seen too many ruby red peacocks available in our auctions lately!
