I got the parents a few months ago from one of our auctions, and I'm really digging these fish! Males are a lovely striped blue, with females taking on a yellowish tint.

This is the first batch I've noticed....the adults aren't yet full size so it was a small batch, with only eight fry!

I had been counting only 7 babies, but I noticed that #8 has learned to hide in the crook of the apple snail's spiral!

They're in a 60 gallon with other Mbuna and Pundamilia (Vics). It's a very active tank and these adults aren't yet the biggest thing in there...but they can definitely hold their own...so the aggression seems pretty even. Lots of chasing, but not much damage.

I'll try to grab some pics, but as you know.....Mbuna don't hold still!

I think I got these a few months back from Mo.....Is that correct, Mo?

Thanks Christine - looks like Sam B had similar photography issues...and just grabbed one!

I'm always amazed at the richness of species available from club members in CCA. Great job, Christine!

Ok, here are a few pics of these guys...as usual, please pardon the debris in the water and the water deposits on the glass!

Males are blue, females are yellowish, although as I sit and watch the tank, it's not as clean-cut as that. I think the subdominant males take on an intermediate color between the two, and I think these females aren't fully colored-up yet, either.
