That is a good price for a pair of Butterfly Plecos but I believe that they are L168, not L052. Both are in the same family but the L168 gets to the ~5.5" size whereas the L052 which is also called a Butterfly pleco only gets to about ~4.7".

There are only 7 species in the Dekeyseria family of which the L052 and L168 are both called Butterfly pleco.

I think it's possible, based on their patterning, that I am really bad at estimating size.

I'd say that based on the clarity of their patterning, they're more like an L052. But, they're still settling in so that might not be a reliable thing to go on right now.
