I have a group of decent size Xystichromis sp. ''Flameback". However none of them are showing color. This is leading me to believe that my group is all females.

The tank is 4'x2' footprint, 12" tall. The tankmates are juvie cichlids - otter point peacocks and a few Z rock, Zebra obliquens.

I am looking to buy a spare male to add to my group.

That should be ok you didn't mention their size I think they should be showing unless bring out competed for food by the fatsss peacocks lol
You can try separating a few then returning them back in a few weeks to see if any of them color up, or try to show color to the returning group.

I put a few bags of juvies in the auction last fall. Maybe some of those are still floating around the club. I also passed my breeding group on to George, but not sure if he has had any luck with them breeding.
