I'm going to set up a 55 gallon tank for my calvus and I'm wanting to use a bunch of lava rocks siliconed together to build a rock structure.

Anyone know where I can get some? Thanks!

Be careful with how you silicone the lava rock. I did this in the past and found when treating for ick, the silicone turned blue/green and looked unpleasant against the red of the lava rock.

You could use black Silicone which would solve the staining problem. I would think though that you would not need to use a lot of silicone to hold the things together, so it would mostly stay hidden if your carefule with it.

I have seen tons of lava rock all available from lowes, home depot, and even Walmart! It's $5 for a 50 lb bag so its real cheap too!
