Who says water guns are just for us?

One of the aquariums I've been to had a little door that let crickets out every so often and you could watch the archers line up and shoot. It was cool.
I've been to so many just cant remember.

That is a great video. The worm reminds me of the thing Khan dropped in Chekov's ear in Start Trek 2.

Got all excited about finding a use for that extra 55gal I have in the shed... it'd be cool to fill up the tank 1/2 - 2/3 the way up and have overhanging branches for crickets. Then I looked them up and realized that archers get 12" long. :(

Did they spit? What did you feed them? Meal worms/crickets?

hmmm... I am swapping my mixed Malawi tank up to 180g from the 110g. A 110g is tall enough that you could fashion something with branches up top and still have plenty of room for them to swim down low.

I think the tank is 30" or 31" high (up to my armpit when I try to reach the bottom of the front of the tank, lol). So you could still fill 16" of water and have 14"-15" of air space on top. For filtration, I would try to use one of my XP3 canister filters, but not sure if it could handle the stress of pulling the water up 15" on the intake side. I would think it would work as long as the intake tubes are connected well/glued together (a syphon, right?)

Now if I can only convince Maria that we can keep the 110g up. :p
