came home to my jd pair with eggs in one tank. then i check on my jags and i almost died . my male had beat her to a raw pulp on both sides. i could actually see a inch long spot that was just fish meat where he had been nipping and nudging her to induce ger inot mating. i guess she fooled him this time when she dropped her tube. i took him out and put him into another tank to keep her alive.:angry3: i did a water change and added a little salt as well as turned up the heat a bit for her. she looks a lot better today.:wub:

thanks lively lol and no wigglers yet but she is still fanning and guarding. im gonna give Montezuma a stay of execution :angry: this time around next time i take away his worms and river monsters on sundays

Check the eggs tonight - I'll bet you will see wiggley tails by tomorrow morning at the latest! Then you should see both of them swimming verticle plucking them off the rock - that is very cool to watch. Mine have done it dozens of times but it still amuses me no end.

I lost my last spawn, pretty sure it was that CAE that got 'em - and likely the spawn before that, too.
