I was actually being a "safety diver" for a class on archeology / low viz diving. I was the one appointed to the camera guy though... So I had to help with his lights along with making sure he came up a live.

Low Viz diving is usually by feel :) A lot of currect on Saturday.... so I was like a flag on a flag pole the whole time...

I must admit... the diving this weekend was a bit edgy... even for me. I don't mind the muck and low viz.. but put current into the mix and I'm not too comfortable either. I felt for the students being their first time

Visibility was a little better than I expected (as long as you had the lights). Current definitely looked pretty strong that day. Thanks for posting the link!

To actually dive this particular wreck they suggest advanced at the very min.

80 to 90 feet low viz and strong current.... I wouldn't want someone with 5 dives going down onto it.

You are certainly a tough girl Sarita;)

I take my hat off to you because there are some men I'm sure, that wouldn't do that dive. Good Job.

Next time, just make sure you come up alive, K :animal0028::happy0144:

lol... some VERY TOUGH men try it once and never come back ....

A few military men and SCUBA instructors over the years ... rather funny to see them treat me one way before the dive and another way after

For sure - they treat you like you might be sane before, than after they know you aren't:lol:. Most in CCA already know.

I knew a guy when I did a job at E-systems who dove limestone caves underwater in Florida. I hope you aren't quite that crazy. He had stories of lights failing and following ropes out and such. And he did that for FUN - how is that fun? To each their own I guess.

Cave diving... that is a whole different ball game ! I think the statistic is 1 out of every 10 cave divers dies. Not something I am really wanting to try. I do want to do caverns though.... I think the animal life you would find would be amazing.

Lights failing... no biggy. It's the running out of air and not being able to go up that is CREEPY and DEADLY !

When there is so much muck that you can't see your own lights... it doesn't matter if you have them  If you noticed in that video it blacks out.... that is him running into mud and muck

wow, under water Black Panther. Very intresting the germans wrapped rubber around this sub to make it undetectable. Cool article. Thanks for the info Pat, and thanks for sharing the vid Sarah.
