Very young spawn of Xystichromis phytophagus

I have 6 Xystichromis phytophagus that are only an inch at most. Today I witnessed the first spawn. Here are a few shots. Bear in mind that this is in a 15 gallon grow out tank (along with a bunch of Julies), and it's on the bottom shelf of my stand only a few inches off the floor. It is horribly lit by a small fixture mounted underneath the top part of the stand, so the pictures were a challenge.

And this should give an idea of how small these are (that's a heater for scale):

Verbal, these are the ones you handed me at Aquamania - part of the DRF shipment. That makes 2 groups of Aquamania fish that have spawned (the others being the Chitande peacocks).

Love these guys!!! I kept a group of them and didn't quite know what I was doing. I found a fry in the tank once and got frustrated then sold the group off. Congrats on the spawn! That male will look even better grown up with bright blue along his back.

Vic's can spawn very young....that being said....they do look awfully small! But they look healthy and happy, too! Congrats on the spawn!
