So I was registering for my classes this semester and came across an interesting biology class that is available on campus. It was listed as BSCI 338K - Genetic Research on Cichlid Fishes. Doesn't fit into my schedule and I'm not a bio student so I didn't register for it but I did end up looking into it and came across the web site for the class and people who run everything. Turns out that The University of Maryland runs more then 300 aquariums dedicated to cichlids. Though it was cool and was going to see if I could go find the rooms on campus some time this week. Ill let you know if I stop by and what they got going on. Here is the web site for anyone who is interested http://cichlid.umd.edu/cichlidlabs/kocherlab/index.html.

Yeah I went to the BRB building where the guys office is located but since it is in the research section of the university the doors are all locked and require a specific ID to enter :( . Im thinking about sending him an email to see what his office hours are and see if I can possibly go talk to him for a bit or even see the fish rooms.
