Nice shot of one of the Synspilum in with the Giant Gourami:

This is sort of like being "bumped" by a battle ship:

This is one of the Vieja complex you don't see very often...Vieja Ufermanni.:

Male and female:

Here's the male chasing some tail...literally:

Male and female. You can see the dark blotch in the female's dorsal fin. When they confront each other they will bleach from shades of blue/yellow to white within seconds. Very cool to watch.

Two nice shots of the male...about 10":

Close up of the back of the male. Very nice blue/yellow colors:

And the female on the war path. You can see her operculum dropped...she just charged out of the breeding area to confront the "spare" female in the tank.

Here's the Pearsei female. She's just so easy to photograph...I couldn't pass it up:

WOW! YOUR PICTURES ARE SPECTACULAR!!! BRIGHT, BOLD COLORS AND EVERYTHING IS SO CLEAR!!! THE FISH SEEM TO COME RIGHT UP TO THE CAMERA TO SEE YOU... :happy0012:

I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE NOTES THAT KEEP VIEWERS PREPPED FOR WHAT TO LOOK FOR... KEEP INCLUDING MEASUREMENTS OF THE FISH. (AN IDEA OF THE SIZE OF THE SUBJECT MAKES IT ALL THE MORE EXCITING!)

THANKS FOR SHARING.

Stunning, Mo.

I don't know if it's the fish, the camera, or the photographer, but they're outstanding!
I'm guessing it's a combination of all three!

Giant Gourami, probably going on 2 feet total length.[/b]

Holy You-Know-What! Don't gourami's use bubble-nests for their eggs? I'm trying to imagine the size that a fish that huge would produce! DANG!
I sure wouldn't want to be the 2nd string female (or male) in THAT group- I'd be leaping into the next tank!

"It's the photographer. The fish just show up. "

HA Mo! I should have said "The camera, the photographer, the fish, OR the person that can actually keep those fish in a spotless tank -"

Am I the only one who can't get ALL of the algae off the tanks??? I must need new blades! LOL
