Thoughts for my lil' sis

Many of you have met my little sister and fellow CCA member, Stephanie (wordgirl91 on the forum). If you would please keep her in your thoughts as she is currently in the hospital. At first we thought it was appendicitis but the tests show negative. So, we are still unsure of what's going on and they are conducting more tests. She is in a tremendous amount of pain and not allowed to eat solids. To make matters more stressful for her, she is due to return to her senior year of college (3.5 hours away) next Wednesday.

Our thoughts are with you and your family. Doctors are pretty good, they'll figure out what's going on.

Positive thoughts headed her way!

Docs are good. But ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to get a second opinion if you don't feel that they're giving her the best...

Keeping her in my thoughts. As Matt said, when unsure ask lots of questions. Ask the doctor to explain anything you don't understand.

Wishing a speedy recovery to her and best wishes to your family. Hope she can focus on getting better -- colleges deal with that sort of thing all the time, that part will work out okay.

Best wishes and thoughts for your sister. I am wondering if stress of having to go back to school has anything to do with her feeling this way. Just a thought. Most all physical issues stem from mental and emotional ones.

Thanks guys! I'm doing ok. I stayed with her last night. I must have been tired because I slept extremely well even at the hospital. I was even able to sleep in until 8:30 am!

She is still in the hospital and still not sure what's wrong She saw a GI specialist and he will be performing both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy tomorrow. Hopefully we'll know more from those. He says it could still be her appendix. Poor girl has been on a clear liquids only diet since being hospitalized on Thursday.

Hopefully the GI specialist will find the problem. Stay strong. Glad you could sleep. Make sure you stay rested.

She is home now. Her stomach lining is irritated but they aren't sure why. They did biopsies to find out so hopefully we will know something soon.

That's good. Could be due to bacteria. Most likely H. pylori. You can do a search and find out what that's all about. I know a couple of people who have had that problem. Good news is that if it's H. pylori, it's easily treatable with anti-biotic. Stress is a big factor.

I'm glad she's home, Sam. Keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and that she can make it back down to school on time. Bummer she had to spend her last few days at home dealing with all of this.

Sam, we are happy to hear that she is at home and resting.

Hopefully, the doctors will get to the bottom of this quickly and she will have a speedy recovery and get back to school soon.
