I'm a novice at home depot and the one I go its extremely unhelpful. I spend an hour there and was overwhelmed by the amount of items. I ask for help and the associates end up asking me , then ask a fellow customer for help? I was shock... nevertheless I plan on using a mag 9.5 with 1'' vinyl hose to pump back to my 175gallon, I'm looking for a ball valve to throttle it, if you can provide me a link that links me to the ball valve I will highly appreciated. I will update pics as I go as well.

a link to a ball valve and a little advice of how I would hook it up would be extremely helpful thank you first.

If the HD folks can't help you, go to your local plumbing supply store, bring the pump with you. Tell them what you pretend to do and watch the pros at work. You'll only need a couple fittings and 2 hose clamps. I'm sure they would apreciate your business!

I think you mean a ball valve and not a check valve. Perhaps you are confusing the home depot folks. Is this what you want?

HD has them, they are in the plumbing and pvc aisle and are white with orange handles mostly. You'll need to choose between a slip fitting (needs to attach with pvc glue) or a threaded fitting (attaches with screw in fittings. Then, you'll need to find the correct barb fitting to attach to your hose, like this:

Secure your tubing to the barb with a clamp, like this:

Here's a pic of one of mine
