Stand question

I have a Titan-Eze 36 x 18 metal stand that holds 2 tanks. I have a 65 on top and want to put 2 - 20H's on the bottom with the ends facing out. Now the stand is 18" deep and the tanks would be 24" deep. If I were to put a 24" x 36" X 3/4 piece of plywood on the bottom would that support the 20's or is there a change of the tank cracking?

I'm worried about the plywood and tank sicking 2" past the metal support causing a high spot or something.

Any Thoughts on this?

Ben, Don't worry about it.
Ii have my tanks hanging off. The 10's hang over probably 5 or 6 inches with no problem. Some of them have been like that for 15 years. I believe a few years back when JustRon did his he did the same thing. No problems.

The other thing you could do is put some styrofoam under the tank. Does not give any support but softens the points. Plus gives you some insulation on the bottom for temp control. I know a lot of people do that for leveling. Pink or blue thin stuff from Home Depot.

just a warning... I do this with small 10's... and it's fine. Don't do this with big tanks... 20's are probably fine as well.

I have a few small tanks (10g) hanging of a few stands like that and they have been doing fine so far.
