Sponge for sponge filter

I need to replace the round sponge on my sponge filter. It's the commercial fish store type of sponge filter. I don't like the prices I'm seeing for the replacement sponges.

Is there a cheaper replacement? Right now I'm using a course green scouring pad wrapped around some filter floss wrapped around the filter.

Oh yeah, thanks. I forgot about Kens. I don't know about his NBS food prices though. Seemed a little high or maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

There are usually some used Hydrosponge filters in the big auctions. PVAS will have their big spring auction on Sat April 2nd, and that is only a couple weeks away. You can even look at the list of items in the auction by going to their auction website.
