SouthWest

ok, I am being flown out to cali in Sept on SouthWest. For some reason I remember someone saying they are the only airline not to allow fish in luggage. Am I crazy or is this true?

I figure Pat knows... or someone does....

I want to donate fish... but I don't want to get stopped and have to kill the fish because I didn't ask in advance.

I've shipped fish boxes (styros labeled "live fish" in cardboard) as "checked luggage" on Southwest (from Sacramento to BWI).

I've also had bags of fish in checked luggage on Southwest, although I didn't mention them.

Ultimately, it comes down to the whim of the people on duty the day of travel. Almost without exception I've found Southwest to be some of the most decent, reasonable, friendly folks in the air (and I used to fly 150+ legs per year on them)...

Sorry Sarah,
Never been on Southwest.

I have used the fish cooler a couple of times and also have put a styro in my luggage and just did not tell anyone when checking in, but never flown with them.

Best thing to do is to check a suitcase with a fish box inside...

I also use the smaller ones (available at the seafood counter of the grocery store for free)...
