im kind of tired of the little fish i have.
angelfish are kind of common though i did get excited with the awesome pictures Franny showed recently of her pair.
so anything that can peacefully coexist with my community in a planted 75? i have some tetras, plecos, cories and apistos.
so this mysteri fish has to be nice, not eat plants, not dig, not eat smaller fish and not cost an eye nor a leg! :D

what can you guys suggest? thanks

I have a group of 4 Nics that I will probably have to sell to free up tank space. They might work for you.

thats really pretty but a 10 incher fish will likely be to much! anything smaller and not that much of an omnivore? maybe i will have to stick with angels...

I've got a pair of kribs and bolivian rams with all my tetras. Don't know how they do with plants though.

how about mesonata insignis or mesonata festivus, anyone has experience??

I think mesonata festivus would work. What about keyhole cichlids, Laetacara curviceps or Laetacara dorsigera?

Sajica (T-bar) Cichlids are not to aggressive (unless spawning). Get to 5 or 6 inches. I was wanting a group of these awhile back. Still wouldn't mind some.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Laetacara are just OK, smaller than Bolivian rams, pretty drab unless they're spawning. Keyholes I have are mellow and harmless to plants. Guianancaras are nice and peaceful, but I think what you really want are Biotodomas. Two species, I keep the cupidos and they are truly gorgeous fish - predominantly pearly coloration, lovely intricate patterning with almost phosphorescent highlights - just stunning, extremely mellow toward everything else even if inclined to occasionally lock lips and tussle a bit with one another - no harm ever comes of it and have never seen them nip or otherwise bite one another or anything else. If you get some and they don't work out I'll give you what you paid for them to enlarge my herd. But for a planted New World tank absent Discus or Angels they are about as good as it gets. Link to pix below although none of them come close to doing species justice.

LOL. Reading y'all's reviews of your favorite mid-size new world cichlids is giving the itch to try some of these guys.

Must... resist.... :p

I think Michael Barber has some. I think they are festivus.

I am growing out Electric Blue Jack Dempseys in my planted tank. They don't seem too interested in the plants, angels or other occupants. I also have keyholes and laetacara curviceps in there and am not having an issue.
