in my exp i moved my Jack Dempsey to an empty 10 gallon tank and did 5 gallon water changes twice daily with double dose of aquarium salt and it cleared up in about a week. mine was the female to a breeding pair i use to have and the male wanted to breed again but she wasn't ready. this is just what i did. idk if anything i did was even correct lol but w/e it was it worked for me!

EEECK! I would definatly put it in another tank.

+1 an the salt.

I would also continue the melfix and maybe add pimafix, just incase their is an underlying fungal problem. I have read that bacteria and fungi can work hand in hand. Youl see one, but not the other. Sometimes that is.

His scales look a little rough as well. Maybe its just the pic.

"What size tank and how often are you doing water changes and how much? And how many fish in the tank?"

sounds like water conditions issue to me, cloudy eyes in most cases are signs of poor water quality,Unless he hurt his eyes on the rocks or something in the tank
if you have poor water quality and your fishes started to get sick treating the tank will only make it worse, i would start with cleaning your tank and filters and add some salt.
either way you should isolate him

He probably scratced it and got a secondary infection. Clean water, Melafix and a little salt...

it will take a while to go away if you are doing everything right. ive seen this happen to an oscar worse than what you have here.
what was done for him was daily water changes of about 50% and added salt once a week and regular doses of melafix.
went away in about a 10 days to 20 days, again it was worse then what your fish has

WQhen ever my fish are sick i give them a marine bath. I just put them in a mixture of heavily salted marine water for five min and then put them in a quarintine tank of fresh water for a couple days. The salt flushes out their systems. :happy0144: Good luck
