Very cool looking!

You posted pics of the filtration system in the other thread but I didn't quite get it. Is there a sump?

How are you going to siphon the gravel? Thought of just not using any?

Coral on market pending..yes theres a sump behind the tank..the water intake will have sponge on the end..to pre filter as well..

Instead of having a sponge on the intake for your sump (which will, especially as it clogs, reduce the flow of water to the filter), why not have a pre-filter (sock or other mechanical filtration) in your sump?

Got the rest!!..not done.. but almost..theres a lot to do..lol..I have a 6'canister filter with 2 chambers..both with bio media..the sponge on the end of the intake pipe wont reduse flow..the pump can turn up to run 2000 gallons..the sponge is not just for pre filtration.. but so my fish dont get sucked up as well..I have it turned down like its running a 500gln. Tank..ill have about a trash bag size amount of bio in it..if that helps..theres also an air pump with 6 bubblers that I can turn up to 100psi..per valve..uploadfromtaptalk1388372984625.jpguploadfromtaptalk1388373009414.jpg

Playing with lighting..I need my plants in there.. only 2 bubblers on..turned down..

I hope considering a normal diaphram air pump pushes 4-10 psi. If it goes to 100psi depending on the volume of air it pushes I assume it could blow the lid right off the tank. I don't think I've ever seen an aquarium pump that goes that high. Not even a linear piston that can run a whole fish room. What kind of lights are on it? What is your turn over per hour on the filter in terms of gph?

I can turn the air to what I want..its my old hydroponic pump..its rediculus..floresent. for now..my gph is about 5000..

Wow how many horse is the pump? Is 5000 its max flow? Just curious I design/install outdoor ponds/waterfalls, and I'm just curious how you adapted it to filter an aquarium? What did you use to make the canister? I know most huge pumps burn out quickly if there isn't enough head pressure, did you have to add pipe to the return to increase head? I would love to use a pond pump with a diy canister but it seems challenging to create one that works well/lasts long/isn't noisey/and fits where I need it. Do you have a pic of the filter setup?

Ill send a pic later..its a bid jucuzzi pump motor..the canister is PVC..the intake and out take is 2"pipe..it comes in threw the can..

They are some bright lights. I'm surprised the light penetrates down the full five feet or so. Thought it'd be darker way down there. Curious to see how the fish distribute through out the vertical space.

Honestly..im surprised the light does too..I was worried..lol..im woundering the same..who will like the top..middle..and bottom..how they will use it..

You should do your best to choose between sand sifters/cave dwellers or piscavores for the bottom zone then maybe some utaka or open water haps for the mid and upper zones. I had a 24in deep tank and even in that depth the fish definitely inhabited their relative niche.
