RO questions

I have a 5-stage BRS 75/gpd RO/DI system and am thinking about increasing the capacity by going to a 100/gpd membrane as an alternative to putting in a booster pump. I know a booster pump will give me a lot more output but would I see any appreciable increase in outflow from simply switching to a higher capacity membrane? Water pressure is 45 PSI.

If the RO unit you have is set to 75gpd, changing the membrane won't make a difference. You would first have to change the flow restrictor (about $3 on Ebay). As to what kind of increase you will see, that is for another to answer.

Thanks but i already knew about needing to change the flow restrictor coincident with changing the membrane.

Hopefully others will chime in. You may want to ask on plantedtank.net
