I have kept a number of inverts, generally i keep them separate from fish. A few exceptions are BN plecos and red cherry shrimp and endlers/guppies with crayfish.
I can't really think of a combination where I would keep cichlids with inverts(except maybe nerite snails).
If can get a spare tank for them(a 2.5 or 5 would probably work). They are pretty cool shrimp.
